I created a Communication Plan for a fictional Intro to Design class that could be taught at a community college.
My Communication Plan demonstrates a Level 3: Implementation mastery of the A6 NSQ standard. I was able to independently create the artifact on my own, and I think I understand how my plan would apply to students.
Drawing on skills I developed while working in project management, I was able to create a fictional calendar for my class, and determine what supports would be needed based on the students progress at each checkpoint. I created the communication plan in Google Docs, which is a tool that I am very comfortable using.
However, creating a fictional artifact is far removed from the process of actually communicating with students. While I was able to create my plan independently, I do not think I could successfully communicate with students without some guidance. I think my plan is sound, but in practice I would need a lot more experience to execute it.
Overall, creating time tables and project plans is something I have a lot of experience with in the professional world. I was able to apply that experience to my Communication Plan. But I lack a teacher's experience for effectively communicating with students.
