Caurumkrogs
"Caurumkrogs" is a unique open-air painting gallery, where visitors can permanently see the works of art, of famous Latvian painter Jānis Staņislavs Roze (1823-1897).
Jānis Staņislavs Roze was the first well-known Latvian portraitist. His life journey began in "Saulītes", which is why the open-air gallery is located there nowadays.
Initiative group from Kocēni district "Savam novadam" together with landscape designer Vineta Radziņa put the paintings of the artist and his self-portrait on the walls of the old pub "Caurumkrogs".
The place is located close to highway Rīga-Valmiera (A3). Just turn right on the old Rīga - Valmiera road, 2km after Rubene Village.
