Math Team vs. Math Comp

Math team

Roster-based 

Significant emphasis on competition math

Participation in major team competitions (WMTC, ARML, etc) 

Members selected to represent school at AISA/KAIAC

More intense and competitive than Math Competition 

Selection test chooses 12~15 members based on admission exam + after-school meeting participation rate

Math Competition

Not roster-based

Less competitive math

More logic puzzles, math puzzles, math concepts; i.e. general math interest

Relatively relaxed

*Members who perform exceptionally well here may be moved to the Math Team.

Math competitions

AMC, AIME, Math Madness, Log1, PurpleComet, ARML, AISA, etc.

Goals And Objectives

Math competition gives great opportunities for students who are looking to challenge themselves in math. This club helps students develop critical problem solving skills and logical reasoning through problem solving.
