The 2023-2024 school year is off to a strong start! Dorm students have settled into their daily routines and immersed themselves in events and activities. Weekend clubs are in full swing and students have enjoyed both on-campus and off-campus events such as open facilities, water day, cafe and beach trips.

2023-2024 학년도가 힘차게 출발했습니다! 기숙사 학생들은 일상 생활에 적응하고 이벤트와 활동에 몰두했습니다. 주말 클럽은 활발하게 운영되며 학생들은 캠퍼스 내외에서 오픈 팩실리티, 워터 데이, 카페 및 해변 트립과 같은 이벤트들을 즐겼습니다.

Dean of Boarding

It's been a pleasure to welcome new and returning dorm students back to campus for the 2023-24 school year. Students and staff have been bringing their very best to start a great year off strong. From dorm-wide open facility offerings, Sunday field trips, MS/HS Weekend Clubs, and teachers hosting study halls and activities--our dorm students have been taking advantage of all the programs the Dorms have to offer.

2023-24 학년도에 신입생과 재학생들을 캠퍼스에서 다시 환영하게 되어 기뻤습니다. 학생들과 사감선생님들은 멋진 한 해를 힘차게 시작하기 위해 최선을 다하고 있습니다. 기숙사 내에서 제공되는 오픈 팩실리티, 일요 필드 트립, 중/고등 주말 클럽, 그리고 교사들이 주최하는 스터디 홀 및 액티비티 등 학생들은 기숙사가 제공하는 모든 프로그램을 활용하고 있습니다.

I'm very excited to return to KISJ for the 2023-2024 school year! As coordinator for the Dorm Leadership Council (DLC), Weekend Clubs, Sunday trips, House Cup and a variety of other events and activities, I look forward to helping create a fun and interactive environment for dorm students. This is going to be a great year!

Pastoral Care

Middle School teacher, Ms. Naomi Geidel, joined us in the dorms to share her skills in the creative arts. Dorm students enjoyed learning how to cross stitch and create their own projects. We look forward to having her back in the future.

Study Hall

All dorm students participate in dedicated study hall time Sunday-Thursday evenings. This is a great time to get academic support from dorm staff or work on group projects with classmates.

모든 기숙사 학생들은 일요일부터 목요일 저녁까지 참여하는 자습 시간이 있습니다 . 기숙사 사감선생님으로부터 학업적 지원을 받거나 교우들과 함께 그룹 프로젝트를 진행하는데 적합한 시간입니다.

Weekend Clubs and Field trips

On the weekends, dorm students have the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of activities. We offer clubs such as board games and karaoke as well as open facilities such as weight room and open gym. Students can also join fun field trips to the beach, Active Park and local cafes.

주말에는 기숙사 학생들이 다양한 활동에 참여할 수 있는 기회가 있습니다. 보드 게임이나 노래방과 같은 클럽뿐만 아니라 웨이트 룸과 체육관과 같은 오픈 팩실리티를 제공합니다. 학생들은 또한 해변, 액티브 파크 및 지역 카페로 재미있는 트립을 참여할 수 있습니다.

Daily Dorm Life

KISJ dorm students are often busy with academics and activities, but when they have free time, they enjoy spending time in their dorm houses. Whether it's eating a delicious snack prepared by dorm staff or simply hanging out watching a movie or chatting with friends, dorm houses are comfortable spaces for students to relax.

KISJ 기숙사 학생들은 학업과 액티비티로 바빠지지만, 자유 시간이 생기면 기숙사에서 시간을 보내는 것을 즐깁니다. 기숙사 사감선생님이 준비한 맛있는 간식을 먹거나 영화를 보거나 친구들과 이야기하는 등, 기숙사는 학생들이 편하게 쉴 수 있는 공간입니다.

House Snacks

Dorm students love to eat! The dorm staff often make delicious snacks and small meals for students to enjoy after school or study hall. We would also like to thank the PAB for the special grade-level snacks-they are always a big hit with the students!

기숙사 학생들은 먹는 것을 좋아합니다! 기숙사 사감선생님들은 종종 방과 후나 스터디 홀 이후에 학생들이 즐길 수 있는 간식과 간단한 먹거리를 준비합니다. 또한, 학년별로 특별 간식을 제공해 주시는 PAB회에 감사드리며, 보내주신 간식들은 학생들에게 항상 큰 인기가 있습니다!

Water Day

To kick off the new school year, we had our first dorm-wide event, Water Day, on Sunday, August 13. Dorm students participated in a variety of water related activities including "Holey Tube" and our first House Cup event of the year "Frozen T-shirt". It was a great day of fun for students and staff.

새 학년을 출발하기 위해 8월 13일 일요일에 저희는 첫 번째 기숙사 전체 행사인 '워터 데이'를 즐겼습니다. 기숙사 학생들은 "홀리 튜브"와 이번 해 첫 하우스 컵 이벤트인 "얼음 티셔츠"를 비롯한 다양한 물 관련 활동에 참여했고, 학생들과 사감선생님들은 매우 즐거운 하루를 보냈습니다.

Virtue of the Month

Each month, dorm staff choose a student from their house who best represents the virtue of the month. The virtue for August was "Community" and the students who were chosen helped create a sense of belonging, safety and acceptance in the dorms. Congratulations to all the winners!

매달, 기숙사 스태프는 자기 하우스에서 그 달의 미덕을 가장 잘 나타내는 학생을 선택합니다. 8월의 미덕인 "공동체"를 가장 잘 대표하는 학생들이 선정되었으며, 이 학생들은 기숙사에서 소속감, 안전감을 조성하는데 도움을 주었습니다. 모든 수상자들에게 축하드립니다!
