With warmer weather and longer days, dorm students have been more active than ever. They have enjoyed many off-campus trips and different activities on campus. We look forward to a busy May and a strong finish to the end of the year!
따뜻한 날씨와 낮시간이 길어짐에 따라, 기숙사 학생들은 그 어느 때보다 더 활동적인 시간을 보냈습니다. 학생들은 교외에서 많은 야외 활동과 교내 다양한 활동을 즐겼습니다. 기숙사는 분주한 5월과 힘찬 학년도의 마무리를 기대합니다!

The Dormies!
On May 18th, the KISJ Boarding Program will have their Awards night, The Dormies! Each House will give out an award to the student who best exhibits the overall values of our boarding program!
5월 18일에, 한국국제학교 기숙사에서는 The Dormies 시상식의 밤을 보낼 예정입니다! 모든 하우스는 우리 기숙사 프로그램의 가치를 제일 잘 보여준 학생들에게 시상을 할 것입니다!
Academic Support - Mr. Catron
Mr. Catron is the AP Chemistry teacher in the High School. He has been offering students to come in a prepare for the AP Chemistry test every Wednesday during the month of April until the test. He does a great job prepping the students for their AP exam.
Mr. Catron 선생님은 고등 AP 화학 선생님입니다. 선생님은 4월에 시험이 있을 때까지 매주 수요일마다 AP 화학 시험 준비를 도와주셨습니다. 선생님께서 학생들의 AP 시험 대비를 위해 매우 노력해 주셨습니다.
Wellness Club
This month we had one wellness club event, easy vegan baking! Ms. Jenna showed students how to make a healthy version of brownies with only vegan ingredients. Once the students were shown how to make the brownies they were excited to make their own!
이 달의 웰니스 클럽 이벤트는 초심자를 위한 비건 베이킹이었습니다! Ms. Jenna 선생님께서 비건 재료들만으로 어떻게 건강한 브라우니를 만드는 지 보여주셨습니다. 브라우니 만드는 법을 익힌 학생들은 자신만의 브라우니를 만들며 즐거운 시간을 보냈습니다!
Making Slime with Ms. Greenfield
Ms. Greenfield is a third-grade teacher at KISJ. She taught the Middle School students how to make slime and they were excited to create and play with two different types of slime!
Ms. Greenfield는 KISJ의 3학년 담당 선생님입니다. 선생님은 중등기숙사 학생들에게 슬라임 만드는 법을 가르쳐 주셨고 학생들은 두 가지 다른 종류의 슬라임을 만들며 신나는 시간을 보냈습니다!

PADI Club
Students work on completing their swimming requirements and how to properly use the PADI equipment!

Bike Club
Students have been enjoying the outdoors by going for weekly bike rides!
학생들은 매주 자전거를 타고 야외로 나가는 것을 즐깁니다!
Rock Climbing Club
The students love rock climbing club. They have enjoyed being on the wall and learning new skills! They held their second workshop on April 25th.
학생들은 암벽등반 클럽을 좋아합니다. 아이들은 암벽타기와 새로운 기술을 익히는 것을 즐거워하였습니다! 4월 25일에는 두 번째 워크샵을 가졌습니다.
Trail Running
Mr. Tom loves being outdoors and exercising. He offered dorm students an opportunity to go on a run around an Orem! The students enjoyed the run and the opportunity to have a picnic after.
Mr. Tom 선생님은 야외 활동과 운동을 좋아합니다. 선생님은 기숙사 학생들에게 오름 주변을 둘러볼 시간을 주셨습니다! 학생들은 오름에서 달리기를 즐긴 후에 피크닉 시간을 가졌습니다.
Student Lounges
All the lounges have been busy over the past month. Students have enjoyed baking, cooking, playing games, studying in the lounges, and more. All our students have continued to develop and master new skills.
모든 하우스 라운지는 지난 한 달 간 매우 분주하였습니다. 학생들은 라운지에서 베이킹, 요리, 게임, 공부 등을 즐겼습니다. 모든 학생들은 계속해서 새로운 기술을 익히고 발전시켰습니다.
April Reads Month
During April Reads month we gave out raffle prizes to students for reading books. The winners in the Middle School were Hans, Liz, Jacob, James, Claudia, Olivia, Jordan, and Colin. The winners in High School were Sylvia, Haley, and Tricia.
4월 독서의 달 동안 기숙사에서는 책을 읽은 학생들에게 추첨을 통하여 상품을 주었습니다. 중등기숙사의 우승자는 Hans, Liz, Jacob, James, Claudia, Olivia, Jordan, Colin이었습니다. 고등기숙사의 우승자는 Sylvia, Haley, Tricia 입니다.
Virtue of the Week!
Each week, six students (one male, one female, from Middle School, G9/10, and G11/12) are chosen because they best embody and represent the week's Dorm Virtue. Each student is recognized with a certificate and is highlighted on the Virtue of the Week Wall.
매주, 해당 주의 기숙사의 미덕을 가장 잘 구현하는 6명의 학생들(중학생,9/10학년,11/12학년에서 각각 남학생 1명과 여학생 1명)이 선발됩니다. 해당 학생에게 증명서가 부여되고 Virtue of the Week 게시판에 사진이 부착됩니다.

House Cup
This month we had two House Cup events. The first one was Charades where students competed to act out nouns! In first place in this event was Maple/Palm House, followed closely by Spruce/Alder, and Willow House. Congratulations to all that competed!
이번 달에는 2개의 하우스컵 이벤트가 있었습니다. 첫 번째 경기는 학생들이 단어를 몸으로 표현하여 맞추는 Charades였습니다! 1위는 Maple/Palm 하우스가 차지하였으며, 그 뒤를 Spruce/Alder와 Willow 하우스가 바짝 추격하였습니다. 모든 참가자들 축하합니다!
The next event we had was the Badminton Challenge. Students worked on their accuracy by trying to hit the shuttlecock into a ring or a target on the gym floor. First place in this event was Cedar, followed by Willow, and Elm house. Congratulations Cedar House!
그 다음 행사는 배드민턴 챌린지였습니다. 학생들은 링 안으로 셔틀콕을 넣거나 체육관 바닥에 놓인 과녁을 맞추며 정확도를 겨루었습니다. 이번 이벤트의 1위는 Cedar하우스였으며, 그 다음은 Willow와 Elm 하우스 순이었습니다. Cedar 하우스 축하합니다!
