June 2021 Update
Thank you Dorm Community - students, parents, and staff for your understanding and flexibility during the 2020-2021 school year. Even during a difficult year, we were able to come together to create a safe, warm, and studious environment for students to thrive.
2020-2021이 마무리되는 가운데, 우리는 기숙사 커뮤니티 - 직원, 학생, 그리고 학부모들에게 정말 큰 감사를 표하고 싶습니다. 모두가 도와주지 않으셨다면 올해는 매우 힘든 해 였을 것입니다. 학생들이 안전하고 따뜻하고 공부할 수 있는 환경을 만들기 위해 함께 힘써주셔서 감사합니다. 이러한 시국에서도 이해해주시고 잘 적응해준 직원들과 학부모님들께 감사드립니다.
The Dormies!
The 2021 Dormies were a great success. The students celebrated in different ways. The middle school houses celebrated together while the other houses in their lounges! They had a blast being together to celebrate their house's success.
2021년 Dormies 행사는 큰 성공을 거두었습니다. 학생들은 각자 다른 방식으로 축하를 했습니다. 중학교 하우스들은 라운지에 있는 다른 하우스들과 함께 축하를 했으며, 학생들은 각자 성공을 축하하기 위해 함께 모인 자리에서 즐거운 시간을 보냈습니다.

Dorm Students' Achievements
Middle School Robotics competed in the Vex World Championship May 27th - May 30th. They competed against students from around the world and were the only group from Korea! Dorm student G7 Jason Roh was involved.
중학교 로보틱스 팀은 5월 27일부터 5월 30일까지 VEX 세계 선수권 대회에 참가했습니다. 전 세계의 참가자들과 경쟁했고 우리팀은 한국에서 온 유일한 그룹이었습니다! 기숙사학생 G7 Jason Roh가 참여했습니다.
Harmonix had their Spring Concert. It was great to see the students perform. Dorm students involved were G9 Bruno Park and G10 Hyeji Kim!

The Middle School Art students worked very hard to create beautiful drawings, paintings, mixed media prints, and more. They were featrured in the MS Dragon's Laire. Dorm Students involved were G6 Liz Bae, G8 Nathan Kim, G8 Yumin Kim, and G8 Mina Kim.
중학교 Art 학생들은 아름다운 그림 그리고 혼합 미디어 프린트 등을 만들기 위해 매우 노력했습니다. 이 작품들은 MS Dragon's Laire에 전시되었고 기숙사 학생 G6 Liz Bae, G8 Nathan Kim, G8 Yoomin Kim 그리고 G8 Mina Kim이 참여하였습니다.
The HS drama students adjusted their play into a movie and recorded their play Break of Noon staring dorm students G11 Haley Chung and G9 Edward Chung amongst the cast. It also featured behind the stage work by dorm students G12 Doomin Kim, G12 Hyunbin Kim , G10 Tricia Yoon and G10 Alex Park.

Windmill Coastal Road - High School

Sinchang Windmill Coastal Road is on the northwest side of Jeju Island and has a distinctive offshore wind farm as a prominent landmark. The white windmills and emerald waters along the winding shoreline are a refreshing example of the autumn landscape and an environmentally friendly way to generate electricity. This road is also one of the most beautiful places to view the sunset from Jeju.
신창풍차도로는 제주도 서쪽해안에 위치해있으며 유명한 랜드마크로써 풍력발전 시설이 설치되어 있습니다. 구불구불한 해안가를 따라 위치한 하얀 풍차들과 에메랄드빛 바다는 가을 풍경 그리고 환경친화적 전기 생산의 특징적인 예시입니다. 또한 이 도로는 제주의 일몰을 구경할 수 있는 가장 아름다운 도로입니다.

<The World We Made> presents ‘Another Point of View’ as an exhibition that collects actual situations of the past and visual commentary of artists in one place to pay attention to the aspect of mass production of hatred and expressing hatred that causes hostilities among many people not only domestically but also around the world.
과거의 실제 상황들을 수집하고 예술 작가들의 시각적 해석을 한 자리에 모은 <너와 내가 만든 세상>은 '또 다른 관점'을 제시합니다. 이를 통해 대량생산에 대한 관점 그리고 국내 뿐만 아니라 전세계적으로 많은 사람들 사이에서의 적대감을 불러일으키는 증오의 감정을 표현하는 것에 관심을 가져 볼 수 있습니다.

Cheonjiyeon Waterfall - Camellia House 천지연 폭포 - 카멜리아하우스
Cheonjiyeon Waterfall is a waterfall on Jeju Island, South Korea. Literally, the name Cheonjiyeon means sky connected with land.
천지연 폭포는 제주도에 위치한 폭포로써 천지연이라는 글자 그대로 땅과 연결된 하늘이라는 의미를 지니고 있습니다.

Accomplishments in Sport
Middle School Athletics had their end of the year banquet this past month. Many dorms students are out for different sports throughout the year. Sport is a great way for students to become more dedicated, hard-working, goal orientated, and develop leadership skills. The following dorm students have shown these skills!

Before the Seniors graduated they participated in the 1st Annual Senior Bowl. Senior bowl is a competition amongst the GEC schools senior athletes to determine the most athletic senior class by competing in soccer, basketball, and volleyball. The first year's title was awarded to KISJ!
시니어들은 졸업 전, 학생들은 제 1회 시니어 볼에 참가했습니다. 시니어 볼이란 축구, 농구, 배구 종목을 GEC 내 학교들끼리 경쟁함으로써 가장 뛰어난 시니어 클래스를 선정하기 위한 시합입니다. 첫 해 타이틀의 영광은 KISJ에게 돌아왔습니다!
