This week in Year 2

Dear Year 2 Families,

This week has been another fantastic week in year 2! A huge highlight of the week was our trip to the Panto to watch Aladdin! This was a wonderful experience for many of our children as it was their first time watching a theatre performance! They were also treated to biscuits and ice-cream!

In Writing, children have used our class text of 'Mince Spies' as inspiration to think about what makes a good Spy. They were then able to think creatively about what it takes to be a Spy and the characteristics needed in order for them to write their own instructions on how to be a Spy.

In Maths, Children have been practicing their addition and subtraction skills to find 10 less and 10 more of numbers to 100. They have also used resources to calculate adding and subtracting 10’s from numbers within 100.

This week in Science, Children have been learning about the different types of Christmas Trees. They looked closely at their characteristic and how they were similar and different from each other.
