Dear Year 2 Families,
It has been another fantastic week in Year 2 with lots of exciting learning activities taking place.
This week, children have taken part in outdoor learning day where the children have shown resilience in using innnovative and practical methods of learning across the curriculum.
In English, the children have used their plans to complete their letters of reply back to the pirate patrol team at Dull-on-Sea. It was very important for the children to remember the features of a letter such as where to write the address, how to open and conclude a letter aswell articulating their thoughts clearly throughout the letter.
In Maths, the children have continued to practice their skills of dividing and multiplying. Children have looked at grouping and sharing as two different methods for division aswell as using arrays, number lines and other practical resources to help them to visualise the concept of division. Children have continued to practice counting in multiples of 2's, 5's and 10's to to enable them to complete division problems quickly and effectively.
In Science, children have been learning about the 5 different food groups. Children have learnt examples of each group and the specific benefits that humans and animals can derive from each of these.
