Attendance Policy

Students are required to attend all lessons, rehearsals, and performances during the course of the school year. Participating in a performing ensemble is like playing on a team, everyone’s contributions to that team are important and are counted on by their “team-mates”.

If in the event a student is unable to attend a performance due to circumstances beyond their control, a note should be sent to the director explaining the reason for their absence. In this case their absence will be excused. Any unexcused absences from any performance will result in a missing grade for that performing opportunity, until a note explaining the absence is received.

Per school Policy: if your child is absent from school during the day they are not eligible for afternoon or evening activities. If your child is home on the day of a concert their absence will be considered excused from the performance.
