4th Grade Information

Welcome!

We here at KIS are so excited that you have found this page!  We hope that this website will help to answer the questions you might have about Band and Chorus for your future 5th grader.  Through the navigation at the top of the page you will find everything KIS Music has to offer.  However if you still have questions you can email either Mrs Coats or Mrs Plantier by clicking the buttons at the bottom of the page.  

Starting in the 2024-2025 school year our ensemble classes will be a year long scheduled class like Math and Reading in your child's schedule.  This means that they have a designated time in their school day to have these musical opportunities.  Students can sign up for Band, Chorus or BOTH 😀. 

Signing up for Band and Chorus is a YEAR LONG COMMITMENT.  

Chorus:

Mrs. Plantier is the 5th-8th Grade Chorus teacher.  Chorus is a scheduled class that will meet every other day.  The Chorus preforms 2 concerts a year (Winter and Spring) and is featured at our Veteran's Day assemblies and Pep Rallies singing the National Anthem.  

Band:

Mrs. Coats is the 5th and 6th Grade Band teacher.  Band is a scheduled class that will meet every other day opposite chorus.  Lessons are a 20 min pull-out that are assigned to a specific day to help students remember their assigned day.  The core class schedule will rotate so that the same portion of class will not be missed every week.  The 5th grade Band preforms 2 concerts a year (Winter and Spring).
