Mrs. Coats

Debra Coats is a graduate of Western CT ST University with a BS in Music Education and Southern CT ST University with a MS in Special Education.  She has been teaching music in public school for 23 years.  She comes to us from Fields Memorial School in Bozrah, CT where she spent the first 20 years of her career teaching General Music Pre K - 8, Band 4-8, and Chorus 4-8.   

The 2022 school year brought her to us here at KIS!  Debra directs the 5th and 6th grade bands and teaches general music for both 6th and 7th grade.  

Her goal for her students is and will always be for them to reach past what they think they can do and leave her classes with a new love and appreciation for music.
