The Presentation of Evidence is a culminating step in the Portrait of an Educator (POE) professional growth cycle, designed to provide educators with the opportunity to celebrate their learning, highlight their proficiency within a Core Competency or specific Learning Target, and demonstrate the impact of their professional growth on student learning outcomes.
This presentation is educator-led and may take a variety of formats with their administrator—such as a portfolio review, a narrative reflection, review of data analysis, or even a live demonstration of practice—based on the nature of the evidence and the educator’s chosen growth focus. Regardless of the format, the goal is for the educator to share a sufficient body of evidence that clearly illustrates their professional growth, application of learning, and resulting impact on student success.
Importantly, the presentation also serves as a key moment for receiving actionable, high quality, constructive feedback from an administrator. This feedback supports the educator's continued growth, validates areas of proficiency, and helps align the educator’s self-perception with administrative observations and beliefs. The process reinforces the POE model’s commitment to reflective practice, professional agency, and building on opportunities continuous improvement.
