About
The Lugoff-Elgin Army JROTC program was founded in May, 1971. Our JROTC is an Army JROTC, and often is referred to as the Demon Battalion. It is part of a network of over 3,500 high schools across the country that feature a JROTC program, sponsored by the United States Armed Forces. The Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps was originally created as a part of the National Defense Act of 1916, and serves not to only prepare students for military careers, but to instill in students the values of citizenship, leadership, service to the United States, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment. While doing all of this, it is instilling in the students self-esteem, teamwork, and self-discipline.
LEHS JROTC welcomes new cadets to the 2026-2027 school year! We encourage new cadets to consider joining a competition team offered by the program. Resources are offered on the team pages.

LEHS JROTC hosts two Blood Drives for the American Red Cross each school year! We are very grateful for everybody who signs up to donate! The next LEHS Blood Drive is Oct. 21st at the Annex Gym, 9am - 3pm!!
