DEMON BATTALION
The Lugoff-Elgin Army JROTC program was founded in May, 1971. Our JROTC is an Army JROTC, and often is referred to as the Demon Battalion. It is part of a network of over 3,500 high schools across the country that feature a JROTC program, sponsored by the United States Armed Forces. The Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps was originally created as a part of the National Defense Act of 1916, and serves not to only prepare students for military careers, but to instill in students the values of citizenship, leadership, service to the United States, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment. While doing all of this it is instilling in the students self-esteem, teamwork, and self-discipline.

The JROTC hosted a Blood Drive for the Red Cross on October 15th. You had to be 16 or older, and if you are 16, you would have needed a parent's permission form completed and filled out for the day. If you donated, then you had to bring a proper form of ID. Donators had a chance to win gift cards, an excuse for leaving class, and food.
We are very thankful to everybody who signed up to donate.
