College Readiness Assessments
The State of Michigan requires College Board SAT, PSAT and ACT WorkKeys testing as part of their spring state summative assessments. As of spring 2024, the SAT and PSAT tests were delivered digitally. The ACT WorkKeys test was still given via paper/pencil.
SAT with Essay
The SAT with Essay test is a required assessment for all 11th grade students in the State of Michigan as part of the Michigan Merit Exam. It is a required component for graduation from Kalamazoo Public Schools. Students who did not take the test as 11th graders must take it as 12th graders before they can graduate.
Some students with disabilities take the MI-Access test instead of the SAT or PSAT.
