Case Analysis
Course Description:
This course provides concepts and tools for applying systems theory to instructional design, including needs, instructional, learner, and context analyses, objectives, assessment, strategy, development, and evaluation. This course focuses primarily on applying the instructional design process in the K-12 learning environment.
Summary:
This course challenged me to put on my instructional design hat, and think about instructing adults rather than my 4th grade students. This proved to be quite a challenge for me as I planned and developed the course; it was hard to wrap my head around teaching adult learners after spending so many years planning and teaching elementary aged learners. I learned the importance of planning instruction and that it is just as important as how the material is delivered and received by the learners. For my final project, I prepared an instructional course for my school staff on the learning management system, Canvas.
