Cultivating a love of learning and a sense of belonging
My name is Megan Palmer. I currently am the 4th grade facilitator of Technology and Language for the Mass Customized Learning Program at Camelot Intermediate School in Brookings, SD. I was the 2021 recipient of Camelot's Teacher of the Year as well as the winner of the 2021 Patricia M. Larson Award for Excellence in Elementary Education.
Prior to my teaching career, I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education - Cooperative Elementary Education Program with Dakota State University with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies through South Dakota State University.
I wholeheartedly believe that positive relationships between teacher and student is one of the single most important elements of success throughout the school year. I strive to make learning engaging and catered to the needs and interests of my students while also trying to implement a sense of community and belonging for each and every learner.
