Mr. Evan Fowler is a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of States and currently serves as an Economic Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta, and a Special Assistant to the new U.S. Ambassador to Indonesia, Sung Y. Kim. Mr. Fowler previously served as the North Africa Desk Officer in the U.S. Department of Commerce's Office of the Mideel East and North Afrcica.
He also completed short stints as the Acting Senior Commercial Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Luanda, Angola, and at the U.S. Consulate in Casablanca, Morocco. Before the Commerce Department, Mr. Fowler worked as a Research Associate at the Tahrir Institute for Middle East Policy, focusing on Libyan affairs.
Mr. Fowler is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and the John Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He is originally from outside of Seattle, Washington.
