Do you have difficulty living in the moment? Are you consumed by things in the past or what may or may not happen in the future? Do your days go by but you feel like your in your head and not living in the world?
Learning to slow down and live in the moment can be very beneficial for addressing anxiety. Mindfulness can get very in depth but I say it really starts with learning to notice things without judgement. Judgement can often contribute significantly to feelings of anxiety. When you let go of trying to change and control your experience and move toward acceptance of experience AND just noticing it instead of fighting it a lot of the secondary pain connected to the experience subsides. Being mindful will also give you a more accurate perception of life as you will notice things as they are as opposed to how your head may tell you they are. There are multiple ways to practice mindfulness and this is something you can get started on right away. Begin by noticing your judgemental thoughts about yourself, others, the world and try to take the judgement out of those thoughts (But always be mindful of judging your own judging, we're human, we do it!)
