 Week of October 20-21

Language Arts: 

Learning Targets - On Monday and Tuesday, we will continue to explore our next unit, which focuses on writing and presenting a podcast. Students need to read their nonfiction book on their topic. Their book needs to be completed by Oct 28th.

Bible: 

Learning Targets:  We will turn our attention to our next Wisdom book, Ecclesiastes. We will discover what Ecclesiastes teaches us about finding fulfillment and joy in our lives. 

Assessments:  

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 due Nov 4

1st half may be said Oct 29.

Science:

Learning Targets: 

This week in science we will wrap up our unit on Heredity and Adaptations. We will review our content, focusing largely on the vocabulary terms: dominant, recessive, heterozygous, homozygous, genotype, phenotype. Students should recall how to cross genotypes using Punnett Squares and understand how to find probabilities

Social Studies: We will finish our discussion on Sparta and how their society worked.  We will then discuss Athens, and how their society influenced Western society today.

Assignments: No assignments unless in class work is not finished.

Math: In the upcoming week students will continue their next unit on Algebraic Expressions. Our learning targets will cover how to add and subtract linear expressions.
