Learning Targets:  We will be discussing how to round and graph decimal numbers.  Then we will be reviewing.

Learning Targets: We will be starting a new part in our unit on "Mixtures and Solutions." We will be learning and making some saturated solutions in class with epsom salts.

Learning Targets: This week we will discuss slavery in the Americas. Why did it start?

Assessments: 

Reading/Writing:  This week we will begin our informational reading/writing unit. We will begin by reading Keep On! The Story of Matthew Henson, Co-Discoverer of the North Pole by Deborah Hopkinson. Eventually, students will begin  drafting their own informational writings and applying the conventions of informational writing (topic sentences, supporting details, etc.). 

Homework:  

• Finish Written Response (journal entry from the perspective of someone on an expedition to the North Pole) (due Wednesday)

Band: We will continue to dive deeper into "A Celtic Christmas" and start to establish exactly what other songs we are playing at the concert on December 4. Students will also receive their "Foundation Warm-Ups" packet this week. This packet will be great to play as a warm up before practicing!

• Power Hour: 1st wave - Flutes/Clarinets; 2nd wave - Saxophones and Low Brass (Trombone/Baritone/Tuba)
