Reading/Writing: This week we will begin our informational reading/writing unit. We will begin by reading Keep On! The Story of Matthew Henson, Co-Discoverer of the North Pole by Deborah Hopkinson. Eventually, students will begin drafting their own informational writings and applying the conventions of informational writing (topic sentences, supporting details, etc.).
Homework:
Finish Written Response (journal entry from the perspective of someone on an expedition to the North Pole) (due Wednesday)

Band: We will continue to dive deeper into "A Celtic Christmas" and start to establish exactly what other songs we are playing at the concert on December 4. Students will also receive their "Foundation Warm-Ups" packet this week. This packet will be great to play as a warm up before practicing!
