Week of November 10-14

Bible: In the upcoming week students will continue their unit on Spiritual Disciplines. We will read testimonies of believers who have used spiritual disciplines to strengthen their own faith and the faith of others. We will focus on the disciplines of prayer and evangelism.

Friendzy: We all have times in life when we feel stressed and anxious. When we are stressed it affects our minds, emotions, and bodies. During this month’s third Friendzy unit, we will be equipped with tools to use as we work through stress and uncertainty as it comes.  Our Friendzy focus this month is “Stress Less—Breathe Easy.” We will be studying Matthew 6:26-27 and 1 Peter 5:7 as our Biblical anchor points this month.

Math

Targets:

This week in math we will continue Chapter 5: Systems of Equations. Students will continue working with graphing, solving systems by identifying where lines cross. We will also learn how to solve with substitution,  finding a solution as a coordinate pair. We will assess on the first half of the chapter end of week before learning our last strategy for solving.

Algebra

Targets: 

This week we will learn the second half of Chapter 4, scatter plots and lines of best fit. Students will learn how to create their own line for scatterplot, write an equation for it, and understand how residuals work. We will discuss correlation coefficients and how we can identify if a line is a strong or weak fit for the data.

Language Arts 

Targets: 

This week we will be finishing up a summative writing paragraph and then watching the film version of The Giver. We will be comparing and contrasting the film with the book in order to analyze the differences and their impact on the story.

Science: In the upcoming week students will begin their next lab unit about elements, compounds, and chemical symbols. We also will be working through our habits of mind of how to think like a scientist.

Homework: Green Sheet Learning Targets (# 1-2) - Due Friday, November 14

Assessments: 

Social Studies: We will finish our lesson on the end of the Revolutionary War.  We will focus on the diary entries of two German soldiers who fought on opposite sides of the war, and how their personal experiences were different from each other.  The Revolutionary War test will be on Friday.

Assignments: Federalist 10 assignment due on Tuesday, 11/11/25.

Assessments: Constitution Test on Thursday, 11/13/25.
