Role Overview

Compliance

Ensure strict adherence to all state and federal laws and regulations related to WBL programs, including placement, ongoing site visits, and student safety.

Program Management

Plan, implement, monitor, and report on all school WBL programs, including internships, apprenticeships, and cooperative education.

• Prepare a WBL Plan for each WBL student with assistance of the Worksite Supervisors.

• Prepare a WBL Plan for each WBL student with assistance of the CTE Teacher.

• Revise the WBL Plans as needed to improve work experiences.

• Conduct periodic visits of worksites (not to exceed 60 days) to determine adherence to WBL Plan, to ensure student safety, and to ensure student training and supervision.

School Support

Assist teachers and building leaders with developing and implementing WBL programs by providing resources, models, and guidance.

• Ensure all WBL programs with coordinating Infinite Campus course codes are taught by an appropriate certified teacher.

• Ensure all WBL students are enrolled in the correctly aligned Infinite Campus course.

• Align WBL experiences to identified career goals in student Individualized Learning Plans.

• Ensure all student populations a path to Career Readiness.

Communication & Promotion

Share promotional materials and other resources to support WBL programs. Maintain consistent communication with students, families, and employers, providing support and addressing any concerns.

Career Skills

Ensure that students develop the essential skills, career awareness, and financial literacy needed to thrive in their work placement. See Kentucky Academic Standards for Career Studies.

Employer Support

Support employer sites and contact persons, conduct site visits to assess suitability, and ensure appropriate safety practices.

• Maintain confidentiality related to the information gathered from the WBL Employer Partner.

• Prepare and support partners for WBL success. 

Documentation

Ensure all required WBL documentation is complete and on file with the district.

Student Support

Align WBL experiences with students' Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) and provide career skills support during their placements.
