Be on track for graduation;
Be courteous and considerate of the employer, co-workers, and others;
Be punctual and dependable;
Maintain regular attendance, both in school and at the WBL placement;
Notify the employer and the WBL Coordinator as soon as possible if you are not able to attend work;
Complete all forms and documents required in the WBL program;
Keep records of work experiences and wages earned (if applicable) as required by JCPS and submit them on or before specified deadlines;
Conform to the policies, procedures and regulations of the employer and JCPS;
Maintain a satisfactory performance level during the WBL placement; and
Consult the WBL Employer and WBL Coordinator about any difficulties at the WBL placement.

Enrollment in a Jefferson County Public Schools Work-Based Learning (WBL) program is limited and that submitting an application for enrollment does not mean that I will automatically be accepted;
Grades, discipline record, and attendance record may be checked by school staff and other JCPS officials prior to acceptance into the program;
All required forms must be completed, reviewed, and approved by school staff prior to final acceptance into the program;
Students must respond to all communication from JCPS school and/or district officials during any phase of a JCPS WBL program in a timely manner (including email communication);
Students must secure a placement prior to enrollment in a WBL program;
Students driving to and/or from their work placement must provide Student Driver information upon application to a WBL program;
Student drivers must maintain driver privileges and auto coverage for the duration of the experience to continue in a WBL program;
Transportation to and from the work placement is the responsibility of the student and/or parent/guardian;
Employment changes (job lose, new job, etc.) must be reported to all appropriate school staff by the student within a timely manner not to exceed two (2) school days;
If employment is lost, schools may grant a grace period not to exceed 2 weeks before schedule changes occur;
All relevant parties (including but not limited to the student, employer, school officials, and guardians) must comply with district, state, and federal requirements before, during, and after the Work-Based Learning placement and failure to do so may result in a rejected application or removal from a WBL program;
If accepted, students must complete all employer expectations for job performance and follow employer policies;
If accepted into an unpaid WBL program, students must submit regular work logs, and failure to do so may result in removal from a WBL program;
If accepted into a paid WBL program, students must submit regular pay stubs, and failure to do so may result in removal from a WBL program; and
If accepted, students must complete any other lessons and/or activities as determined by school staff to meet the WBL program standards.
This is a basic overview of WBL program expectations. Some schools and programs may have additional expectations.
