There are two (2) types of cooperatives in JCPS:
Career & Technical Education (CTE)
Experience-Based Work (EBW)

Career & Technical Education (CTE) Co-op is paid work experience consisting of in-school Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program instruction combined with related on-the-job work experience in a connected business or industrial establishment.
*All CTE Co-ops should be coded accordingly in Infinite Campus and aligned to the student's TEDS-identified career program area (CTE pathway).Experience-Based Work (EBW) Co-op is paid/unpaid work experience consisting of on-the-job work experience during the school day that is connected to a post-secondary credential and/or Associates Degree. EBW Co-op should align to a student's career goals in their Individualized Learning Plan (ILP).
*All Experience-Based Work should be coded accordingly in Infinite Campus.To participate in a CTE Co-op, a student shall:
Be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
Have gained sufficient knowledge and skills for success.
Have completed the basic career and technical skill prerequisites required by the CTE Program (Concentrator Status).
Be enrolled in a pathway course within the same academic year or completed pathway by the conclusion of the student's junior year.
To participate in Experience-Based Work, a student shall:
Have gained sufficient knowledge and skills for success.
Be on track to graduate.
Complete separate coursework connected to their employment with a focus on career skills during experience.
WBL Employers shall:
Complete Employer Registration and all required electronic forms.
Abide by all state and federal labor laws.
Maintain communication with JCPS staff.
Abide by all JCPS District policies and procedures for Work-Based Learning.
