My name is Daytona Crosby. I am a staff writer. I got into journalism because I enjoy writing about things today, and I want to see what I can learn and how I will grow while in Journalism.

As a sophomore in high school I know there are going to be lots of new things to learn especially because of COVID. This year has been a shock for me because I’m getting further in French and I am trying to learn American sign language which has been nice. I am overly grateful I can experience learning some sign language that I can use for later down the road and in my family. While I know that French doesn't really get me anywhere down the road I love the language and I am wishing that one day I will be able to travel to France to see all the amazing things I've learned about it in French and to not let what I've learned go to waste. If you told me five years ago that I would know some French and be learning American sign language I would have said you were lying. I am so grateful that I have three amazingly good teachers to help me with this journey of learning two languages. A huge thanks to Mrs. Silverstone, Mrs. Fuller, and Mrs., Arbogast for all their help.

With Holidays around the corner I prepare myself for the craziness called family. If anyone is like me they know that with a family that argues frequently Holidays become difficult and the arguing become even worse. I prepare myself to help with disputes and keeping things together to make these next few holidays as good as possible. I do like Holidays just not when my family is upset the day of or arguing with each other while trying to share a meal but this year feels different even though it feels different I'm still going to take precautions to make them great.

I have a 19 month old baby brother and hes been walking around much more lately so I´ve been working with my dad to baby proof some areas like the kitchen and living room. Having a baby brother is a really fun to watch him grow up and get to have all sorts of memories with them as time goes on.

With school being back I have already been swamped with work from classes it has been a trip for only being a couple days. I am happy to be back I thought after the two weeks we might go straight into online learning seeing how some have talked about the new variant of COVID. while people have been absent from school from being sick I hope to still be in school since for me online learning was difficult last year but stay safe everyone.

Newspaper in a day has been a stressful but fun day, everyone has gotten lots of things done and we have all learned how much we can get done in one day. we have all learned that while it can be stressful and lots of work its nice to sit and do journalism. I am happy to say that even though some things didn't go as planed they turned out great. Today has been so much fun and everyone worked really hard.
