Hi, I'm Darren, I'm a staff writer. I am a sophomore and it's my first year in Journalism. Something interesting about journaling is learning and seeing others people's views and thoughts. In my free time, I like to do basketball and learn new recipes. លាហើយ
I'm a basketball and running kind of guy. I've been running my whole life and I started enjoying basketball again (started again like 2 years ago). There's just something I enjoy about this sport. Dunking and landing shots is satisfying. Most of my older cousins have played basketball, now I'm one of them too.
I've also been learning how to cook and learning some recipes. Being able to be creative and experimenting is something I like. The ability to make the things I've wanted to try and just learning new aspects of cooking. There are so many things to do in cooking.
Sophomore year has all the way been better than freshman year. You actually get to see what Highschool has to offer. So many new opportunities, new experiences, new everything. High school has felt way more of something than middle school. There have been way more events and exciting things. For me I have felt way more 'free' and able to expand.
When I first walked into Highschool as a Sophomore it felt way different. Seeing all my friends actually in person, what its like to see the high school actually crowded, seeing the real "High School", except everyone with a mask.
How are the classes themself? I'd say its nice seeing normal classes again without that 50/50 split. I'd say classes are back to normal but this time a bit more loud. Its great being back in school with everyone and experiencing what high school should've been like.
Thanksgiving break is soon and the end of 2021. I'm excited but not really at the same time. One thing is I have to get my wisdom teeth pulled out before break. What I'm really looking towards to is my cousins are traveling here for Thanksgiving. They're from Texas and the only cousins basically MY AGE. Those are the two things I can really think of that will happen. I think I'll also travel and do some new things during this break.
During Thanksgiving break all 4 of my Wisdom Teeth were removed and two additional ones from my right side. It sure did SUCK. For about 4-5 days I had to recover and do nothing. Laying down on the couch in pain and had not much to do to entertain myself. I mainly slept and watched random stuff on my ipad. Eating was also such a challenge, couldn't chew and my cheeks were really swollen. Soups and yogurt was basically what I had. Getting wisdom tooth sure is a pain.
2022 is already here and 2021 is already over. 2021 was probably a better year compared to 2020. Way more eventful for sure, as everything slowly came back. I've learned a ton of things from 2021. Life skills and things about life. I've also tried so many new things, actually watching shows, playing more sports, and just attempting to have skill in everything. 2021 was a nice year and I hope 2022 can do the same.
There are many places in the world I want to travel. Some big cities in the West of the US and many many countries around the world. I've traveled to most cities in the East Coast. Boston, Buffalo, Philadelphia, or Montreal. I'd like to go to most places in Asia or Europe. My top places are Phnom Pehn, Seoul, Vancouver, France. Soon eventually I may possibly go to Japan and Germany. Once I get old I want to travel around the world.
