Ralston Valley Crushes Make-A-Wish Goal: 101 Wishes and Counting!
We are thrilled to announce that the Ralston Valley community has officially exceeded our 2026 Make-A-Wish goal! While we are still waiting on a few final donations from our restaurant nights to trickle in, we have already raised an incredible $123,270.53, soaring past our initial $120,000 target.
This monumental achievement brings our 15-year total to over $758,000, meaning Ralston Valley has helped grant 101 wishes for children in our community.
A huge congratulations to our students, staff, and families. This success was a true team effort, involving our feeder schools, clubs, athletic teams, and student and adult leaders. It is a testament to the culture of generosity and service that makes our school so special.
Want to see the impact? Visit our Make-A-Wish Website to see the amazing work our community did to make these wishes come true!
PTSA Staff Dinner - Thank You!
Huge thanks to our Ralston Valley PTSA for the wonderful mid-week boost! The staff was treated to a fantastic dinner from 3 Sons Italian Restaurant during our February 20th conferences. Beyond the great meal, it’s the constant support from this community that truly fuels our work. We are so lucky to have a PTSA that consistently goes above and beyond to make us feel appreciated!

It is a great time to remind everyone to be thoughtful of our neighbors and student body during drop off and pick up. We must keep the right of way clear for emergency vehicles and through traffic. With only one road to enter and exit a building this size, with this many people, the roads at the school will always be congested. There are a few things we can do as a Ralston Valley community to help make these busy times of day run as smoothly as possible.
Main Entrance - Dismissal is at 3:30 p.m. and we ask that you do not arrive to pick up your student and park in the loop before 3:00 p.m. Please be sure to pull as far forward as you can in the loop at the front of the school when dropping off or picking up your student. This helps to alleviate backups in the roundabout and get as many cars off of 80th Ave. as quickly as possible. Also, please pick up your student on the outside of the loop (closest the the sidewalk), not the inside. We do not want students passing in between cars as this is not safe.
Student Parking Lot - To keep our students safe, please do not park in our student parking lot while you wait to pick up your student(s) after school.
Roundabout on 80th- The roundabout is part of the road. Please do not park in the roundabout while waiting for dismissal time. This blocks the flow of eastbound traffic and prevents traffic exiting to the east from leaving campus as well. Please do not stop and pick up your student in the roundabout or on 80th Ave.
Fire Station - As traffic backs up on southbound Alkire, please be sure to leave room for our first responders to exit the firehouse safely and without obstruction. Do not block the exit of their garage.
82nd Ave. - Please pay attention to posted road signs along 82nd Ave. There are multiple speedbumps on 82nd Ave., making it necessary to go the speed limit or slower to ensure safe driving and prevent damage to your vehicle. There are also multiple No Parking signs along 82nd Ave. next to the school's property. Please do not park there to pick up your student.
Finally, and most importantly, please do not park across the street and ask for your student to run across 80th Ave. to be picked up. This is highly dangerous and we have shared with students that this is not permitted!
Thank you for your continued diligence when driving in and around Ralston Valley.
Traffic Reminders from Arvada Police Department
Please do NOT stop or park in the roundabout on W 80th Ave. until the car line begins to move/flow. Those waiting on the south side of W 80th Ave. just west of the roundabout need to wait there until they see the line begin to move. This usually takes a few minutes after the bell rings so please be patient. Those who attempt to stop or park in the roundabout before the line begins to move will not be allowed to stay there and will be directed to move (by continuing east) or will be ticketed by Arvada PD. This is essential for efficient traffic flow and will help the pick-up process run smoothly. It also helps to keep that area clear for emergency vehicles.

Wrestling - The Mustang wrestlers showed grit and resilience at regionals last weekend, highlighted by an outstanding performance from sophomore Max Wheeler. Battling through six physically demanding matches, Max fought his way to a hard-earned 4th-place finish and punched his ticket to the state tournament — an impressive accomplishment at this stage of his career.
After a tough opening match last night, Max remains focused and determined, stepping back onto the mat tonight with the same toughness and competitive drive that got him here. His journey is far from over, and he’s ready to keep battling.
Good luck, Max — the Mustangs are behind you every step of the way!

From top-tier relay swims to remarkable individual performances, this team demonstrated resilience, depth, and competitive excellence at the highest level. Finishing 6th in the state reflects months of dedication, discipline, and commitment to raising the standard.

Hockey - The Mustang hockey team opened postseason play Thursday night against Chaparral High School in the opening round of the CHSAA State Hockey Tournament — and the matchup delivered exactly what you’d expect from a tightly contested #8 vs. #9 battle.
The game was intense from the opening puck drop, with both teams trading momentum and goals through two fast-paced, physical periods. Every shift carried urgency, and neither side gave an inch as the scoreboard reflected just how evenly matched the teams were.
Facing a 3–2 deficit late in the third period — and less than five minutes separating them from the end of their season — the Mustangs showed tremendous composure and resilience. Digging deep, they found the equalizer, sending the game to overtime and extending their fight.
From there, the Mustangs brought relentless pressure. They controlled possession, created multiple quality scoring chances, and pushed the pace throughout an exhausting overtime battle. But despite their sustained attack and determination, the game finally came to a heartbreaking end in the third overtime, with Chaparral securing a 4–3 win.
It was a hard-fought finish to a season defined by toughness, perseverance, and competitive pride. A tremendous effort from start to finish — congratulations on a great season, Mustangs.
Girls Basketball - The Lady Mustangs basketball team enjoyed a well-earned week of preparation as they get set for a huge rivalry matchup this Saturday. They’ll take the court at home at Ralston Valley High School to face crosstown rival Arvada West High School in a 1:30 p.m. showdown at the Mustang Range.
With postseason play just around the corner, this game carries major momentum implications. The Mustangs will be looking to complete the season sweep of the Wildcats, build confidence, and sharpen their competitive edge heading into next week’s state tournament.
Rivalry games always bring intensity, energy, and emotion — and this one promises to be no different. Come out, pack the stands, and show your support as these athletes make their final push toward postseason success.
Good luck, Mustangs!
Boys Basketball - The Mustangs boys basketball team took on another elite challenge this past week, hosting Mountain Vista High School in a highly competitive matchup between top-tier programs. Facing a physical opponent, the Mustangs stayed poised and disciplined throughout, matching intensity with execution on both ends of the floor.
After battling through a tightly contested game, the Mustangs showed their resilience in the fourth quarter — locking in defensively, controlling the tempo, and making key plays down the stretch to complete an impressive comeback and secure a 59–55 victory.
Now, the stakes get even higher.
The Mustangs return to action Saturday as they face crosstown rival Arvada West High School in a showdown between two 21–1 teams. With a top-two playoff seed and the chance to defend their league title on the line, this matchup promises high intensity and postseason-level energy.
Tip-off is set for 3:00 p.m. at the Mustang Range — come out and support the Mustangs as they make their push toward championship play!
Tickets - Game tickets must be purchased through GoFan for all Jeffco-hosted events. Ticket sales to all Jeffco events in stadiums and in our gym are available through GoFan.
