Bookin' It for Backer 5K race

On Saturday, February 4th, the Gum Springs Elementary School family is hosting the "Bookin' It for Backer" 5K race. We'd love for you to join us to run or walk in honor of P.E. Coach Heather Backer and the many lives she has impacted. Funds raised at the event will be donated to Coach Backer.

You can register for the race and pay your entry fee HERE. Specific details about entry fees, prizes, and more are included in the registration form. If you don't want to register for the race but would like to provide monetary support, you can also make donations using the same link.

In addition to the 5K race, GSES will be the host site for an American Red Cross Blood Drive in Coach Backer's honor from 12:30 to 5:30 P.M. on Thursday, February 2nd. Go to this link and "Book It for Backer" with the life-saving gift of a blood donation.

Please visit the Gum Springs Elementary School Facebook page for additional race information.

THE 7 MINDSETS

Click HERE for the Attitude of Gratitude Parent Newsletter

The Attitude of Gratitude Mindset teaches us the importance of seeking the positives from every experience and being thankful for all that we have. Through this mindset, we learn that we can use the positives or the negatives of our lives as the foundation on which to build. Choose the positives, and we are on our way toward extraordinary success; choose the negatives, and we embark on path toward disappointment, resentment, and suffering. In these lessons, we guide students to focus on all the things they have, leaving no time to be distracted by what they don’t.
