Ancient Greek culture is a course that I am taking for my intended minor in Classical Studies. I have previously taken "Classical Mythology" and ever since have been interested in taking some time to study the classical world. This minor does not have extreme relevance to my BSW, but is something that I am interested in.

Generalist Skills Practice is THE social work class of social work classes, in my opinion. In this class, we spend a lot of time learning new client to social worker communication skills and we also practice our client to social worker interactions a lot with our classmates. This class has allowed me to strengthen my social work skills and has better prepared me for my post-secondary goals.

Benefits
Cognition has been a helpful class to have under my belt as I have learned several helpful study strategies during my time in this class. I also have been able to apply the knowledge I learn in this class to other areas of my life, including my job! Cognition is also relevant to social work as social workers can use cognitive theory to help patients identify the thoughts that trigger a certain behavior.

While I do not plan to do a ton of small group work after obtaining my BSW in a literal way, this class has been very interesting for me to see how different groups in society form and work. I do plan to teach for awhile after I graduate and a lot of the things I learn in this class could be useful to know in the classroom.

I am taking "The Solar System" as an elective. This class has little to no relevance to my BSW.
