By taking this contemporary biology class, I feel more knowledgable about science in areas I would not have gotten to explore otherwise. Outside of learning about science and biology in this course, I was also introduced to several online learning tools, such as VoiceThread, that I have used in future classes as well. Being able to learn about these tools in this class has made my other classes easier as well.

While Finite mathematics was a required course for my social work degree, it has little relevance to social work as a discipline. However, this math class completely changed my perspective on the subject of math. In fact, I have taken my knowledge from this course and work with it each and every day at my full time job as a Title I Mathematics Instructional Assistant!

This class, while not a "SWK" class, has taught me so much about what it means to write professionally. What was most useful for me during my time in this class was learning how to write cover memo's, employee handbooks, and emails. The extensive research that took place in this course has also been benefical to me as I learned a lot about how to research, collect, and interpret data from this class and have used these skills since then.

Taking this class has provided me with a foundational understanding of human behavior, thought processes, and development which is crucial for effectively interacting with my future students and clients. The information I have learned in this course will allow me to better understand the motivations behind my clients' and students' actions and design appropriate interventions for these behaviors.
