Off-Season

The MSHSL bylaws for summer coaching are posted below. The summer waiver is attached below and offered electronically through the coaches clipboard. (Located under preseason tab)

DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR

During the school year, members of the high school coaching staff (full time, part time, head coach, assistant coach, volunteer coach, salaried or non-salaried) may not own, organize, administer, direct, or coach a camp or clinic, league, or tournament that is attended by players from the coach’s school in that sport.

SUMMER WAIVER

High school athletes may attend a camp or clinic owned or coached by a member of his school's coaching staff provided the coach has been approved for a summer waiver.

1. Coaches cannot coach their own players during the school year outside of their season.

2. Coaches can now coach their players during the summer provided the summer waiver is on file for coaches and players. This must be optional to the students who participate!

3. There is a one week No-Coaching time period in the summer, around the 4^TH of July Holiday.

4. Coaches cannot organize a camp or clinic 14 days prior to the start of the first fall sport season.
