After signing in successfully, you will need to load the data to be visualized. To load historical data, open the History pane on the menu (top-left) and introduce the date and time range, as well as the aggregation interval.
If real-time visualization is available, there will be a button on the top-right (Live) that you can click to view real-time data. The platform will then fetch new data as it is made available.
Once data is loaded, you are presented with the visualizations. The height of the cylinders on the map are proportional to the crowd density at their respective locations. To view exact values, hover the cylinders. The slider on the top allows you to select the moment in time to be visualized. On the bottom-left, the line chart shows you the the sum of the values for all locations (vertical axis) across time (horizontal axis). Hover a point on the line chart to view its exact value.
Depending on the configuration of the platform, several metrics may be available. You can select which metrics to visualize, up to two at a time, as you can map one metric to the Height of the cylinders and another metric to their Hue. A special metric, named Density, is available for Hue. When selected, the hue represents the density of the metric mapped to Height relative to the locations' carrying capacities.
You can select locations by clicking on the cylinders, or by drawing a polygon on the map using the drawing tool (available through the Selection pane on the menu). When locations are selected, the line chart is updated to reflect the values for the selected locations only.
The Selection pane also contains widgets to select entire pre-defined regions and to clear the selection.
