Each STEP will be assigned a sustainability index using a lifecycle assessment (LCA) approach, based on Ecoinvent and Soca. Ecoinvent is an inventory database on fine-grained life-cycle quantitative impact factors for a large range of products, including those that make up the offer of STEPs. Soca is a database that combines Environmental LCA, Social LCA, and lifecycle costing (LCC), allowing the carrying out of full lifecycle sustainability assessments, using the impact indicators from Ecoinvent.

RESETTING Sustainability Index encompasses three components:

• Q-Envi environmental performance sub-index, based on quantitative indicators of the environmental performance of the company and its products, with a life cycle approach, considering the following environmental aspects: air, water, and soil pollution, pressures on mineral resources and biological, land use and occupation;

• Q-Soci social performance sub-index, based on quantitative and qualitative indicators of the added value created by the company: advanced good practices, social responsibility, fair trade, edutainment (education associated with leisure and entertainment);

• Q-Dest destination quality sub-index, which assesses sustainability on a territorial scale and encourages companies to contribute to the qualification of the territory in which they operate: protection of natural and heritage values, socio-cultural authenticity, and sustainable exploitation of resources.
