Subsidy for removal costs (not applicable to local hires & interns)
If you have been hired from abroad, ISB bears the removal costs of goods from the point of origin to Belgium up to a maximum amount set by policy. Point of origin is defined as the place (abroad) that the employee came from when she/he started at ISB.
Conditions
ISB only bears these costs if they are not already being covered by another party, such as a spouse’s employer or another school from which you may be moving.
If your previous employer pays less than what ISB would have paid, ISB will pay the difference. If ISB and the other school have the same mutually exclusive policy, ISB will speak to the other school and find a solution whereby the removal costs will be shared with the other school.
A (partial) invoice in the name of ISB will be necessary, as the payment needs to be done directly by the school to the moving company. Due to tax regulations, no reimbursement through expenses sheet will be possible.
If the removal costs exceed the maximum subsidy supported by ISB, the employee will be invoiced directly by the moving company for the excess.
If the subsidy for removal costs is not or not entirely used for the moving to Belgium, the excess can be paid in cash (due to tax reasons). It is also not transferrable to another move within Belgium, nor to the move from Belgium.
