Following recruitment, the School will provide teachers/employees hired from outside Belgium with the coordinates of a travel agency and the name of a contact person to whom they will be authorized to order a one-way trip ticket at the current (i.e. time of move to Belgium) least expensive economy airfare for themselves and for their family (ISB will not pay for pets), provided there is no other payment of fares to Belgium by another employer or agency.
For tax reasons, payment of the plane/train ticket must be made directly by the School, no reimbursement through an expense reimbursement form when you arrive in Belgium will be possible.
Only dependents identified at the time of hiring will be taken into consideration.
Transportation from the airport to the first place of accommodation is carried by the school. Please give us your arrival details and we will book at taxi for you.
Furthermore, if permanent accommodation has not yet been found upon arrival, the school will book a temporary accommodation (hotel or Airbnb) for the newly hired teacher up to a maximum of 10 days and up to a maximum cost of 85€ per single per day, and 115€ per family per day. Reservation and payment will be made directly by the School (due to tax issues, no reimbursement through an expense reimbursement form when you arrive in Belgium will be possible).
Although the school year starts on 19 August 2024, an induction program is organized starting on 7 August 2024 (TBC). This program is mandatory. Teachers are requested to arrive in Belgium preferably on 1 or 2 August 2024, in order to allow support with initial accommodation arrangements.
Please take into account that your contract and health insurance starts on the 1st of August 2025, which means that your current health insurance should cover you up to 31 July 2025.
Departing teachers will be allowed to book a one-way ticket at the school’s expense for their return to point of origin or next place of employment through an approved travel agency at the current (i.e. time of move from Belgium) least expensive economy airfare for themselves and for their family (ISB will not pay for pets), provided there is no other payment of fares from Belgium by another employer or agency. The price of the ticket may not exceed the fare to their place of recruitment or domicile. Payment of the ticket will be made directly by the School (due to tax issues, no reimbursement through an expense reimbursement form!).
Note: Air Miles used for purchasing tickets cannot be reimbursed.
We wish you a smooth transfer to Belgium.
