Dear new ISB'er,
We are very happy to welcome you to ISB and congratulate you on your appointment as an ISB employee.
In the coming weeks you will receive a number of detailed mails which I encourage you to read thoroughly as they will undoubtedly facilitate your transfer, relocation process and work permit procedure. You might think "this is too much, too complicated, I'll never get there..." No worries, we'll be there to support you all along the way, at every step.
Our aim is to make this transition process as smooth as possible.
So, here we go...
Giedre Jasaityte (jasaityteg@isb.be) will send you your employment contract by FedEx (if you are already in Belgium, we will invite you to sign the contract on our beautiful campus). You will also receive a personal information form to complete for HR to have all necessary information to start up your file.
You will receive an e-mail from Noemi Patiño who will be your primary contact person for relocation in Belgium (if needed) . She will organize contacts with our professional relocation agent who will help you find and secure accommodation in Brussels according to your instructions.
She will also coordinate contacts with your removal company (for the invoicing process), as well as the travel agent with whom we have contracted to serve our incoming Faculty members. These companies bill us directly for the services rendered to you.
Noemi will also send you our Orientation Program, which covers the first three weeks of August and will guide you during your first weeks at ISB.
Finally, if applicable, Noemi will put you directly in contact with Tanel, our lawyer specialized in work and residence permits. He will assist you by providing detailed instructions for obtaining the necessary Belgian Single Permit and visa.
Newcomers are expected to arrive in Brussels in the first week of August to allow a smooth settling-in and installation in Belgium.
Transportation from the airport or train station to the first place of accommodation is organized and paid by the school.
If permanent accommodation has not yet been found upon arrival, the school will cover the cost of hotel accommodation up to a maximum of 10 nights and up to a maximum cost of 85€ per night (115€ for a family).
During the first week after arrival, we would like you to secure adequate housing and take care of bank issues, initial registration at the town hall and other paperwork; all this with the help of our relocation agency.
More information about the practical details can be found in the "Relocation" tab.
The Orientation Program will start during the 2nd week of August 2025 (exact date tbd) and is mandatory. It will bring you slowly up to speed so as to be ready to start teaching on the first day of the new school year.
Please take into account that your ISB contract and health insurance start on August 1st 2025 which means that your current health insurance should cover you up to 31 July 2025.
Should you have questions about anything else that may arise, such as queries regarding your contract or any other question that you should not hesitate to ask. The HR Manager, Joëlle Luyckx, will be delighted to assist you by mail luyckxj@isb.be
The whole HR team is ready to set you up for success and get you settled in Brussels before the first day of school .
We look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful campus and lively community and live the ISB experience to the fullest. We are quite certain that you will soon enjoy working at ISB as much as we do.
Warm regards
