Employees receive a meal voucher per working day, with a facial value of 8.00€. Meal vouchers are electronically uploaded on a debit card (Monizze card) that can be used to purchase food in restaurants, shops or supermarkets.
Employees contribute for 1.09€ per meal voucher (deducted through payslip) and the balance is funded by the school.
You will have therefore have a net benefit of 6.91€ per day.
Vouchers are provided to all Employees who are hired for a half-time workload or more.
In case of absence such as sick leave, holidays, etc., no meal voucher will be given.
Please note that Meal Vouchers cannot be used in ISB cafeterias. To pay your purchases on ISB campus (cafeterias or ISB shop), you can use your Security Badge. You will then receive an invoice to pay from the Finances Department.
ISB intervenes in the costs of internet @ home for its employees. 2 options are possible :
1. A “split billing” with 3 internet providers : Proximus, Telenet & VOO. How does it work ?
You subscribe for an internet (and more) package with Proximus/Telenet/Voo (conditions applying). The monthly fees for internet will then be deducted from your private Proximus/Telenet/Voo invoice, and the provider will send the related invoice directly to ISB.
Example : You subscribe a pack for internet, phone and television with Proximus. Proximus will send you the invoice for phone and television and will send a separate invoice to ISB for the internet part.
(Conditions about the selected package apply - you can contact Debbie McKoen in this respect : mckoend@isb.be)
2. A monthly allowance of 20€ paid through payroll. HR needs to be informed of this choice
Additional information will be provided to you during the orientation and by your relocation agent. A benefit in kind of 5€ will be applied.
A laptop or tablet pc will be at the disposal of the employee for which a benefit in kind for the amount of 6,00€ will be applied.
ISB propose a variety of possibilities. Giedre Jasaityte will contact you in due time to organize this with you.
Either an annual public transport pass is provided and paid for by the school when requested (tax free). As we have 4 different companies handling public transportation in Belgium (Stib, De Lijn, Tec, SNCB for railways), the request of the public transport pass will of course depend on where the new employee will decide to live.
If the employee prefers to take a car, a petrol allowance will be calculated based on the distance between the domicile and the workplace (in accordance with Belgian legislation).
Finally, a cycling allowance can be requested by the employee for travelling between home and ISB (in accordance with Belgian legislation).
Nota bene: As an ISB employee, you can travel free with the School Bus Service to and from school. The buses arrive around 8:25 in the morning and leave at 15:50 sharp in the afternoon. If you are interested in using the School Bus Service regularly, please fill out this form by August 14th, so we can register you as a bus rider in our database. This possibility can of course be combined with your preferred way of commuting.
If ISB recruits the employee from abroad, he/she will be considered as an "expat" and will benefit from the assistance from ISB for his/her relocation to Belgium. HR can confirm you if you are considered as an expat.
If ISB engages the employee when he/she is already in Belgium, he/she will be considered as "local hire". This means that the benefits as described in the "Employee Handbook", "Specific Benefits for Employees recruited abroad", are not applicable.
For members of Faculty and Staff with a full-time contract who have been recruited abroad and whose native language is non-French or Dutch, the tuition fee for their children and their partner’s children enrolled at ISB is waived, provided the tuition fee is not paid by the spouse's/partner’s employer or from another source. Teachers who have to be terminated due to decreased enrollment at the school retain this benefit for one school year. For Faculty members with a part-time workload, the tuition fee is prorated. This benefit does not include ancillary costs that would normally be incurred for someone attending a non-private school in the country of origin.
ISB provides all its employees with an Hospitalization insurance and an Ambucare (Medical Dental Optical) insurances.
(Interns and CST members only benefit from the Hospitalization insurance)
The Hospitalization insurance is fully funded by ISB for the employee and his/her family members.
The Ambucare insurance is funded by ISB for the employee (there is a possibility to affiliate the family members for a small contribution).
More details can be found in the "Health Care & Insurances" tab.
The legal retirement age in Belgium is currently set at 66, but will be 67 as of 2030.
As you are paying Belgian Social Security contributions through your payslip, you are accruing rights to a Belgian legal pension that will be paid by the Belgian government at retirement age.
This legal pension will be calculated on the basis of accumulated earnings over the person’s career.
ISB offers its employees (except interns) the benefit of an additional extra-legal pension called a 'Group Insurance' with the insurance company AG.
During the first 3 years of employment, a contribution equal to 5% of the monthly gross salary will be paid by ISB into the Group Insurance plan. As from the 4th year of employment, a contribution equal to 10% of the monthly gross salary will be paid in. Contributions are funded entirely by the employer.
The money vested in the AG Group Insurance plan can only be released upon death, leaving ISB (under certain conditions) or reaching pension age.
You will receive confirmation of your registration and a yearly online statement. In order to obtain the information about the moneys vested in your name.
You can also consult the site mypension.be that will give you an idea of the estimated legal Belgian and extra-legal pension that you will receive at retirement age.
The intention of the policy is to provide benefits to ISB employees and their partners. To be eligible for the ISB Non-Spousal Benefits, the following conditions must be met:
Both partners must have been living under the same roof for at least two years.
Partners may not be related.
Both partners must be registered at the same address in Belgium.
The couple may be asked to submit an affidavit signed by both partners stating financial and emotional interdependence.
Having satisfied all of the above conditions, the partner will also be entitled to:
Compassionate leave
Hospitalization insurance
Exemption from tuition fees for children attending ISB when the employee has been recruited outside Belgium and the fees cannot be paid by another party such as a spouse’s employer.
ISB will recognize one partner for each employee at any one time. The employee must notify the school should there be a change in the partnership status. Benefits will not be extended to the partner once the relationship with the ISB employee has ended, including free tuition.
Please note that non-EU citizens accompanying the recruited employee who are not married do not automatically have a right of abode in Belgium. It is the employee’s responsibility to secure the necessary visa if one is needed.
If you have children, and work as an employee, you will be entitled to payments of family allowances by the Belgian Government.
