The base salary is defined by salary scales, depending on your level of responsibility and the number of years of experience. In this respect, please note that :
° There 5 staff bands, from B1 (Assistant) to B5 (Manager level)
° There is also a specific scale for Management positions (Directors).
° A maximum of 10 years experience is recognized by ISB.
In the original contract, your step will therefore be defined by the band and the experience.
Example : Salary step B3/10 for a Coordinator position with 10 years of professional experience
Staff Pay Scales are published on the ISB intranet . They show monthly and annual salaries in EUR.
To be put on another band you need to fill in the request form here
The International School of Brussels depends from the Joint Committee 337 (Commission Paritaire) and follows its rules regarding the salary indexations (cost of living index). Indexations are always 2% but the moment is not fixed (it depends on the evolution of consumer prices). Indexations regulations do not depend from ISB and can be modified by Belgian authorities at any time.
Every year in August, you will be recognized with one additional year of experience and your step will be modified (same example : B3/11 in August Y+1). A small salary increase is associated with this step change every year . Salaries are however capped at 26 years of experience.
