Our Active Sports Group is fully inclusive and provides the opportunities to learn and play new sports which can be adapted for able-bodied and disabled pupils. Sports we are currently able to provide are: boccia; floor curling; table tennis; indoor mini golf.
The benefits of sport are clear. Not only is participation in sport good for our physical and mental wellbeing, but there are many other skills which this group seeks to develop:
Co-operation and collaborative skillsÂ
Developing strategies, learning rules and understanding the need for self-discipline
Working as a team and developing friendships
Building confidence
Listening and taking turns
Resilience: how to cope with losing, and how to be a respectful winner
