Hello Everyone,
We just wanted to share a quick update and ask for a bit of feedback.
With the recent roadworks now completed, we’d love to hear how parents and children at Cauldeen are finding the changes - please email us on cauldeen.primary@highlandpc.co.uk with your feedback.
Your feedback is really important to us, so please let us know your thoughts.
Our £20.26 Challenge sponsorship forms will be coming home next week. We completely understand that every family is different, and there is absolutely no pressure to take part. We also don’t expect families with multiple children to do it for each child - it’s entirely up to you if you’d like to get involved.
We’re also excited to be starting our Playground Improvement Project! Our first step is a Big Clean-Up on either 15th/16th April, where we’ll be -
Tidying and refreshing the playground
Working in the garden areas
Supporting improvements in the playgrounds
You may notice a new thing or two when returning to school after this 😊 and all being well, we’re hoping to have our playground markings in place by June - fingers crossed!
We are currently awaiting approval for the markings, so this clean-up will help us prepare for that. Improvements will happen in stages as we raise funds, but we’re keen to get started and make a difference now.
We’re also delighted to be working alongside ICT Community Development as part of this project! If you have any spare time on 15th or 16th April (anytime between 10am-5pm) and would like to help, we would really appreciate it - please get in touch.
If you can help in any way, or would like to donate to our project - such as compost, bulbs, or planters - we would be incredibly grateful!
Thank you so much for your continued support.
Kind Regards
Lindsay Fulton

We’ve also been working closely with The Highland Council to help make Culduthel Road safer, with works due to begin soon and we continue to work alongside them to improve the school playground. This is a longer-term project as we need to build our funds, but we’re making sure all the right steps are being taken to give it the best chance of success.
~~ Road Safety Update ~~
🚸 Road Safety Update - Culduthel/Balloan Road 🚸
Following our previous post a while ago about us working alongside the Road Safety Team, we’re really pleased to be able to share some positive news regarding road safety at Culduthel/Balloan Road.
The Parent Council has been working closely alongside Road Safety, raising your concerns about this area and most importantly, the need to keep our children safe when travelling to and from school. We’re delighted that these concerns have been listened to and acted upon -
✅ A contractor has now been secured
✅ The street lighting team are now carrying out significant upgrade works to the crossings
As part of this work, new light-controlled crossings will be installed on both Culduthel Road and Balloan Road, where there are currently no controlled crossing facilities.
In addition, the segregated cycleways at this junction will be enhanced, creating a much safer and improved layout overall. These upgrades will be of particular benefit to pupils of Cauldeen Primary School who use this route daily.
This is a great example of what can be achieved when concerns are raised, listened to and worked on collaboratively. Thank you to everyone involved in helping make the journey to and from school safer for our children!
Being part of the Parent Council is incredibly rewarding, but it does take a significant amount of time. Like many families, our members are balancing work, home life and other commitments. To allow the Parent Council to continue, we are really hoping to welcome new parents or carers who might be able to help going forward. A free PVG will be organised by us, and support can be in any capacity, big or small or help guide us to other areas of support to help us fundraise towards our Playground.
