Copy of 9/11 Questions - Bio

Hi, my name is Nurzahan Chowdhury. I am a student leader on this 9/11 project. Being a student leader, I have many roles, but my main role is being the leader of a group full of leaders.

I'm 12 years old, turning 13 in 2021, so I was born in 2008. Being born in 2008, I was very unfamiliar with 9/11. The first time I actually had a lesson on it, was in the 6th grade. The first time I heard of it was in the 2nd grade. My 2nd grade teacher mentioned it a few times. She told my peers and I that it was something that caused America to be stronger. She also mentioned that it was something that we will never forget. I didn't learn about the terrors of it until 6th grade.

Even then, I was only taught about the terrorists, not the hate spread amongst people like me. By that, I mean Muslims. Because of that, I just thought 9/11 was a battleground, in which people died. I didn't think much of it, besides all those that had left us.

It was in 7th grade, which I am in right now, that I learned the full history about 9/11. It took me a long time to understand how truly terrible it was. The effects of it still last today.

We will never get back those we lost, family members only have their items, while they suffer. People are being judged, and discriminated against because of their similarity to the one that hurt thousands. Kids like me, well we're the future!

Even though we're meant to be the ones moving the world on, we will always keep the past with us.--
