Copy of 9/11 Questions #1 anika

I was going to work nonchalantly, getting on the train and walking down the street. I went to the office sorting out files.

I then hear a loud stomp and I see something absolutely horrifying outside the window. It is crushing people carelessly and I get out of the 124th floor, running down faster than an elevator.

I run for my life, but then I hear another stomp, and I see it taking tremendous strides crushing more people and ruining beautiful sites as well as many lives. As I'm running, I see the national television station and I see that these creatures are hurting other places and many more people

. Were trying to stop this torture but it barley works.

The next month, I saw everything go back to normal, but everyone forgot about my deceased self as well as the other 10,00 people who were injured, and the other events that happened on September 11th, 2001.

People were scarred for life, some people died, but everyone forgot. (this is from the perspective of a person who died on 9/11)

Before I joined this 9/11 project, I did not know much about 9/11 and its critical events.

I never put much thought on energy to learn about 9/11 because I never knew that it was a large event, it seemed normal to me that people didn't talk about the event. Additionally, I never knew the amount of lives that were taken, and I never knew that there were other attacks such as the attack on the Pentagon and the attempted attack to the white house, more commonly known as the flight 93 attack. I was never acknowledged about 9/11 and its horrors.

However, I now know the truth about 9/11 and I feel that children and adults need to learn about it more. 9/11 was a very important event in American history and it changed lives. I never knew much about 9/11 until I joined this project. Now I know that 9/11 is not just one day of harm, it was decades of harm.

People who lost loved ones are scarred for life, and people who are getting racially profiled are still suffering every day from the verbal/ physical harassment and abuse of others. I do not connect much with 9/11, but I know what it feels like to be bullied and verbally harassed because of race.

Based on these facts, students need to commemorate 9/11 because we need to honor those who were lost, no matter what race, religion, or nationality they are.

We also need to stop the hate and start respecting people, even if you don't believe in it, because everyone should treat people the way they would want to be treated.

Responding to Student Pieces

I chose Ludjina Victor’s piece because it was detailed and the summary at the end gives us a very nice insight of what the reaction to 9/11 was to people from a different country.

I chose Mohinobu Tokhirova’s piece because his account/reaction of 9/11 from a different perspective. Readers can see the thinking going through the father’s mind.

I chose Danielle-Angelina Clarcke’s piece because Danielle’s mother was one of the many victim’s who was terrified because of family that was near the twin towers. We can see and feel the worry from a few words.

I chose Danielle Castillo’s piece because his interview subject experienced the change in mood throughout the years after 9/11
