Dear High School Community,

We are grateful for the successful start to this academic year. Students are settling into their classes, establishing positive routines, and engaging well with the opportunities before them. Last Friday’s Grade 9 Parent Night provided a valuable opportunity to welcome families into high school and share how we will support students academically, socially, and spiritually. Here is the PowerPoint from that evening for those who couldn’t make it. We were also encouraged by Tuesday’s Grade 12 University Advising Night, as our seniors and their families prepare thoughtfully for the important decisions ahead. Here is the video from that evening for those who couldn’t make it. I look forward to our Grade 10 and 11 night on November 4th, with details coming closer to the time.

These events reflect our commitment to everything a successful modern school requires: excellent teaching, strong pastoral care, informed university guidance, and careful preparation for a rapidly changing world. We want our students to acquire the knowledge, skills, and habits needed to flourish at university and beyond.

Yet our ultimate purpose extends further. As a Christian school, we believe that true wisdom and virtue find their fullest expression in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Academic success and future opportunities are valuable, but they cannot bear the weight of our deepest hopes.

The apostle John reminds us, “The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever” (1 John 2:17). This verse calls us to view education, and life itself, from an eternal perspective. We prepare students to live faithfully and serve meaningfully in this world, while remembering that this world is not our final home.
