Dear ICS Elementary Families,
Welcome back to a new school year! We so enjoyed seeing our new and returning students and families yesterday and today. We hope you are feeling confident about the start of school and invite you to take another look through the Elementary Back to School Survival Guide for details on arrivals and dismissals, uniforms, as well as important routines and upcoming events.
Arrivals
Drivers: For Safety, please remember, that if you are driving, please pull forward as far as you can and have your child ready with their school bags to exit the vehicle quickly and safely from the passenger side of the car.
Walkers should not cross the garage entrance as there will be many vehicles entering and leaving.
Dismissal
Student pick up cards were distributed during the Orientations and Meet-and-Greet sessions Thursday and Friday. Please remind the adult picking up your child to bring your child’s physical pick-up card for dismissals, as photos on your phone will not be accepted. This is for your child’s safety as photos can be easily copied and shared.
There are diagrams for these procedures on pages 14-19 in the Elementary Back to School Survival Guide.
I am also excited to introduce our Chapel Theme for this new school year. Alongside our academic programs, our Chapel theme for the year—Forming Hearts and Habits—focuses on developing wisdom, virtue, and Christlike character. We know that this is not something we can do through our own efforts alone, so we trust in the one who is working in all of his children to continue and complete his work in our lives.
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6 (ESV)

Whenever we make a change to the calendar it will appear on the Elementary School Google Calendar. Parents can view the Elementary Google Calendar from the school's website. On the My ICS page, simply scroll down to the calendars, find the Elementary School calendar, and click the Google Calendar icon on the bottom right of the calendar.
