Plate for Plate Project

The Plate for Plate project is a project sponsored by the Swedish food service company Linas Matkasse who started it in 2013 in partnership with International Aid Services - Kenya. The project is implemented in Tharaka Nithi County in Kenya. Due to persistent drought in the area, there was a need to provide schoolchildren with substantial meals in order to foster education. Maize and beans, being the staple food in the area, seemed ideal. With this, the Plate for Plate team began the implementation of the project in 2015 which currently supports 10,343 children in 37 schools.
