At the beginning of the school year we organise reading coffee mornings for parents and relatives of our Key Stage One children. The purpose of these short sessions is to promote reading for pleasure opportunities as well as providing parents with a wide range of resources and activities to continue supporting their children at home. Parents and children get the opportunity to browse our school library together, attend shared story sessions, complete online reading activities on our chrome books and visit our book tasting reading cafe. For parents of our Early Years children, we run a phonics workshop which offers guidance to parents in supporting their children in their early reading development. Parents join their children to complete practical phonics activities that they can replicate at home.
