We know that the 12 pedagogical principles described in Successful Futures (2015) are neither exhaustive nor prescriptive. They do however, provide a rich range of aspects to provoke reflection and encourage evidence-informed innovation as we continue to improve practice, individually and collectively, to enable every learner to develop through the four purposes and make progress aligned to the Progression Code.
The subpages for each pedagogical principle naturally contain reference points that mainly span and intertwine several principles at once, as we would find in well-considered and meaningful learning experiences. By separating the resources into the principles, we do not want to suggest that they should be seen as components in a checklist.
Thank you to all who have contributed so far. If you have comments or suggestions, including resources that would be useful to add, please contact Sian on RowlesS5@hwbcymru.net
Below are the slides from Dr Debra Kidd's presentation to the Teaching and Learning conference we held in Pembrokeshire in 2016, describing our approach to crafting nuanced blends of the principles to meet the needs and interests of specific learners at specific points in time.
