Our Vision
'Nurture, Partnership and Inspire'
Vision Statement
We aim to create a nurturing learning community that fosters respect, confidence, resilience and independence where everyone is valued and inspired to achieve their aspirations and make a positive difference to their community, society and the world.
At Maendy Primary school, all our pupils will be supported to develop as:
Ambitious, capable learners who are ready to learn throughout their lives.
Enterprising, creative contributors who are ready to play a full part in life and work.
Ethical, informed citizens who are ready to be citizens of Wales and the world.
Healthy, confident individuals who are ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society.
In order to achieve this we aim to:
Support learners’ mental and emotional wellbeing through developing self-regulation, empathy and a culture of mindfulness.
Foster curiosity and problem solving through a stimulating learning environment and promote challenge for all learners from an early age.
Promote the five learning dispositions through a bespoke (MAGIC) curriculum– Motivation, Awareness of Self and Others, Growth Mindset, Independence and Collaboration.
Promote inclusivity and equality through child centred personalised learning led by pupil voice.
Support learners to acquire, develop and apply digital skills for an ever-changing technological world.
We strive to develop learners’ communication skills both in English and Welsh.
Embed the importance of taking risks and having a growth mindset to the whole school community.
Promote children's rights and responsibilities, and encourage respectful behaviour.
Develop a sense of belonging and Welsh identity as Citizens of Wales.
Promote the importance of celebrating and embracing other cultures.
Provide authentic learning contexts centred around local and global issues to provide learners with the knowledge to make informed views.
Support pupils to take on leadership roles across the curriculum.
Foster learners’ creativity through performance, both in school and in the wider community.
Instil a healthy lifestyle in all pupils through participation in a wide variety of physical activities.
Support the development of staff through timely professional learning.
Support the needs of parents and the wider community in order to improve outcomes for learners.
