Peek into the Past

This term, Year 6 are exploring the powerful stories and events of World War II. Through historical sources, storytelling, and creative writing, pupils are learning about evacuation, rationing, and the resilience of Welsh communities during wartime Britain. They’ve been writing newspaper reports, decoding messages, and reflecting on the emotions of children living through conflict.

To bring history to life, Year 5 visited the Imperial War Museum in London, where they explored real artefacts and interactive exhibits. They also took in the sights from the London Eye, linking their learning to the geography and landmarks of the city.
