Pre-flight Tool Overview
The pre-flight tool may support you on your journey as you begin to implement the Welsh Government’s recently released curriculum materials.
This document can be used with staff, challenge advisors and other stakeholders to promote discussion about your school’s transition towards Curriculum for Wales 2022. It could support the planning of strategies which will enable you to make progress towards creating a local curriculum that provides universal access to, and acquisition of, the experiences, knowledge and skills that our young people need for employment, lifelong learning and active citizenship and to achieve the four purposes.
The pre-flight tool examines the following areas: Vision, Principles of design, Methodology and Context for learning. It may support you to identify the strengths of your school and the priorities to be addressed as we move towards September 2022. The information gathered can feed into self-evaluation and improvement planning.
