Foot : Basic rhythmic unit, or metron, of hexameter verse. Made of either dactyls or spondees.
Meter : Rhythmic schemes
Syllabification : The drawing of a line between feet, often between syllables.
Elision : The contraction of dactyls into spondees by contracting multiple vowels into 1 sound.
Dactyl : A type of foot made up one 1 long mark followed by 2 shorts.
Spondee : A type of foot made up of 2 long marks.
Caesura : A pause or break in the line.
